In honor of the Season... Revisiting this solstice post: Ah...what better way to welcome the arrival of the Winter Solstice than with an homage to the snow globe? But look closely and you will soon discover that these are not the kitschy iconic mementos from your childhood. The sugar-dusted fairytale themes of the past are replaced with the gallows humor of artist team Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz. So  lovely and inspiring... I fell in love with these vintage photos of snowflakes taken by Wilson Bentle y in the early 1900's .  He perfected a process of catching flakes on black velvet in such a way that their images could be captured before they melted.  

Boston bound... I recently sent new botanical work to the Chase Young Gallery for their Winter Group Show that opened on December 4th.  Among the new works displayed are a few of these abstracted florals.
